My British Model Railway Locomotives

Flying Scotsman, Cock o’ the North, Mallard and Claud Hamilton

Flying Scotsman Cock o the North Claud Hamilton

These are my magnificant model HO scale LNER Flying Scotsman, P2 Cock o' The North and the A4 Mallard together with the lovely LNER P16 4-4-0 Claud Hamilton steam locomotives. These wonderfull steam locomotives were used in Britain between 1900 and 1960.
I grew up in Wivenhoe, Essex, England in the 60's and 70's and I only vaguely remember steam trains running on my local line but they have a romantic and vivid memory of life in my village then. Their steam had stained the bridges and overpasses for so long even though 90% of the train traffic was Diesel/Electric every train spotter still envisaged and hoped that the next train through would be pulled by a Steam locomotive.
